I became interested in building and working on stringed instruments while studying visual art at OCADU in 2012. Since then, my passion for playing music and instrument-making has led me to various settings as a luthier —creating, repairing, restoring, and experimenting.
I apprenticed with sculptor and instrument maker Jeff Menzies in Kingston, Jamaica, worked in manufacturing at Rickard Banjos in Aurora, and also operated out of a shared shop with acoustic guitar builder Behrad Gorgani at Toronto Lutherie.
My approach to building and repair work is one and the same. Each instrument presents its own set of nuanced challenges and requires creative solutions that are unique to both the player's budgetary and practical needs.
I frequently work on vintage acoustics, entry-level student guitars, family heirlooms, and hard-gigged touring instruments — all of which receive an equal degree of love and care.
I use era-specific materials and glues, and work out of a professional, and humidity-controlled space. If you have an instrument in need, feel free to call, email, or visit, and I’ll be happy to take a look! All consultations and estimates are free of charge!
